Skill Development in India is growing in significance on account of a large number of youth expecting to enter the workforce within the next decade. As a national priority, India has set upon itself a task of skilling 500 million youth by 2022 – a task with no global precedent. In order to achieve this mammoth objective spearheaded by our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s “Skill India Campaign”, the states have to chart new paths with innovation to revolutionise the entire value chain of Vocational Education.

I am happy to learn that in line with our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of a ‘Skilled
India’ with globally competitive skills and competencies, the Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University (HVSU) has taken a giant leap towards catalysing the TVET system to provide real-time job experience and industry driven training curriculum. This innovative model will enable the youth with the ability to compete in the local and global job market and help India in establishing itself as the “Skill Capital” of the world.

I wish HVSU all the very best in their endeavour and wish to see vocational education in India spearheaded by HVSU to achieve and establish its brilliance in the national and global arena.
